Sigh....
I really miss the days practising at East Zone Combined CO... Its relly very different from practising in VSCO... the passion, the feeling... It's not there.... EZCCO is almost like a part of me now, only that it's seperated... I feel like all is lost... there is no fun in practising with people who have completely no passion for music.. They practice just for the sake of practice... Haiz....
Anw i got few coments on certain membersof higher authority in VSCO... I been thinking alot these few days, especially today... Wat is a good comm? In the case of a Chinese Orchestra, the commitee not only has to lead the CO well in terms of administrative and discipline, but also has to show the CO the passion they have for music... Certain ppl i mention may feel that i'm wrong, but feel free to tag to tell me...well, here goes....
First of all, Chairman--- Ser Yang.
As a chairman, he is respectable, whether in his music skills, or his passion for music. But first, let me ask you, wat is the purpose of having a chairman? It is to lead his commitee and his members with reason and passion.
In terms of giving out orders, he has done a pretty good job...Yes, i agree that the job of a chairman is to give out orders, but not to force his subordinates into doing things without even first considering whether it will inconvinience him or not...
Maybe, i'm the first unlucky one to have this kind of experience with him, but i'm hope there will be none of more such cases...So far he has intended to carry out many projects but much which were aborted halfway... maybe the projects were deemed unfit to carry out by him, but i beg to differ... certain things like the exchanged could be carried out but there were alot of reasons here and there and the whole thing was cancelled... maybe after Ser Yang read this, he may come and confront me, but i stand by wat i say... I respect him, but he should try and change some of his style of leadership...(not that i can do a better job lar, but these are just my feelings)
Second, Vice-Chairman---Tan Wei Liang
There is nothing much of him for me to say except that he has to put in more feelings when it comes to playing the erhu... His skills are not exactly mediocre, but he has to add feelings when he is playing... I'm not sure whether he does not have the passion for the instrument or what.... And another thing.... Im not sure i've seen him contribute anything big since he became vice-chairman other than running around with the chairman, talking to the teachers in charge,staying back late, coming early in the afternoon, making some less then important announcement and shouting alot... I'm sure even say bryan or someone can do a similar or better job then this... I just think that there is something more that he can give to the CO other then these stuff... But, still, he lacks the passion...........
Third,The Various Sectional Leaders----Alvin, Jun Jie, Kenneth, Delson, Jason
they do their jobs and that's enough... However Delson seems extremely prone to skipping practices or comm meetings.... And Junjie's parents are slightly unreasonable too, restricting him from CO just because his results are not up to standard...Among the five of them, i can only feel that Alvin has put in effort and feelings into what he plays...maybe the other does, but i just can't feel it...
Finally,Treasurer--- Me
I don't know if i am thinking too much or what, but these are things that is seriously from the bottom from my heart that i had supprssed for a very long time... I'm sorry if i offended anyone...Now, about me, i'm not sure wat other people thinks, but i know one thing very clearly... My love for music is real.The feelings i put into my songs are also real. My passion for leading is also, 100%, completely, garaunteed real. Although my skills are only slightly above mediocre, i am struggling to improve. I am sure that if i strive, one day i will do myself proud...
I may not be able to see what flaws i really have, so need all your help to help me become a better comm and a better erhu player...PLS
